Eco-Certification Standards

Shoppers are demanding higher quality standards in the products they buy. Third-party certifications can provide improved systems of transparency and lend legitimacy to label claims.  In lieu of government action, third-party certifications created from private voluntary standards can fill in as informative markers for consumers.

There are a number of third party certification standards requiring companies to meet social sustainability and environmental performance standards, meet accountability standards, and be transparent to the public according to the score they receive on the assessment.
